Below timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah from week to week witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-
1. LG Monitors Relief In Kishtwar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed rescue and relief operations in Chashoti, Kishtwar after flash floods, assuring reconstruction of damaged homes and uninterrupted essential supplies.
2. CM Visits Kishtwar, Announces Ex-Gratia: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited flood-hit Kishtwar, met affected families, and announced ex-gratia from the CM’s Relief Fund: ?2 lakh for deceased, ?1 lakh for severely injured, and financial aid for damaged structures. He also directed immediate restoration of infrastructure.
3. August 15| LG’s Call For Inclusive Growth On Independence Day: On the 79th Independence Day, LG Manoj Sinha called for ensuring that no individual or village is left behind in the journey of peace and progress. He also congratulated J&K Police personnel for gallantry and meritorious service medals.
4. CM Hoists Tricolour At Bakshi Stadium: CM Omar Abdullah hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the Independence Day parade in Srinagar, highlighting the values of freedom, unity, and progress.
5. August 14| LG’s Tributes To Parition Victims On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day: The LG remembered victims of Partition, urging unity, harmony and compassion in society.
6. CM Condolences To Families Kishtwar Cloudburst Victims: The CM expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the Kishtwar cloudburst and assured all relief measures in coordination with the district administration.
7. August 13| LG Felicitates BSF Cyclists: The LG felicitated 79 BSF cyclists who completed a ‘Pedal for Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ rally covering 79 km to celebrate Independence Day.
8. LG Honours Amarnath Yatra Contributors: The LG felicitated SASB, BRO, NGOs, medical professionals, security forces and volunteers for their role in the smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra, calling it a symbol of resurgent India.
9. CM’s Address At FAITH Conclave In Delhi: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed stakeholders at the FAITH Conclave-2025 in New Delhi, discussing tourism and investment opportunities.
10. LG Flags Off Tiranga Yatra in Srinagar: LG Manoj Sinha flagged off the Tiranga Yatra from Dal Lake, where thousands joined to honour the National Flag. He paid tributes to martyrs and urged people to build a prosperous J&K on their sacrifices.
11. CM Calls Tiranga A Symbol Of Unity: At the Tiranga rally, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the National Flag represents India’s strength in diversity and called for upholding secularism and brotherhood.
12. CM Reviews Shalimar Garden Restoration: The CM inspected ongoing restoration of Shalimar Garden in Srinagar under JSW Foundation’s CSR initiative and directed timely preservation of its heritage character.
13. CM Hands Over Appointment Orders: At SKUAST-K, the CM handed appointment letters to newly selected Veterinary Assistant Surgeons and Horticulture Development Officers, urging them to serve farmers at the grassroots.
14. CM Meets ICAI Delegation At Pahalgam: The Chief Minister interacted with members of ICAI during its 445th Council Meeting at Pahalgam, thanking the body for reposing trust in the J&K Government.
15. August 11| CM Directs Food Safety Inspections: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a meeting on market regulation and instructed the Food Safety Department to intensify inspections to ensure quality and safe food items for consumers.
16. ?1,433 Crore Dairy Sector Boost: The Chief Minister chaired a review of the Jammu & Kashmir Dairy Processing Infrastructure Development Scheme (JKDPIDS), aimed at transforming the dairy sector into a globally competitive industry.
17. Focus On Urban Master Plans: The Chief Minister also reviewed the Master Plans for Srinagar and Jammu, besides the Unified Building Bye-Laws (UBBL), stressing on sustainability, stakeholder participation, and preparedness for future urban challenges.
18. August 10| LG Hails Vande Bharat Train For Vaishno Devi Devotees: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said the newly launched Vande Bharat Train between Amritsar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will ensure ease of travel for pilgrims and boost the local economy. He also highlighted the arrival of the first freight train from Punjab to Anantnag as a major milestone in Kashmir’s transport infrastructure. The LG expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for unprecedented growth in J&K’s rail connectivity.
