Srinagar |: The Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology, in collaboration with JVC SKIMS Medical College, successfully concluded a week-long celebration of World Breastfeeding Week under the theme “Priorities Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems.”

The initiative, held at the IUST campus, aimed to raise crucial awareness about the significance of breastfeeding, promote exclusive breastfeeding practices, and educate mothers and caregivers on the long-term health benefits for babies, mothers, families, and the nation. Principal Prof. Dr. Zamrooda Mushtaq underscored the vital role of health professionals in providing support and guidance to new mothers. The program focused on practical and effective ways to assist mothers in their breastfeeding journeys.

The week’s highlights included a series of engaging activities such as health awareness talks delivered by students, interactive sessions with mothers in post-natal wards, a poster competition for students, and an extensive outreach program conducted in nearby outpatient departments (OPDs).
