JAMMU, Aug 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the students of over 1300 Universities including 10 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir virtually on ‘Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme’ and other subjects, coinciding with the International Youth Day on August 12.

The administration has geared up to finalize arrangements for the Prime Minister’s address and all arrangements in this regard are being made by the Universities, officials told the Excelsior.

Modi will address students of nearly 1300 Universities across the country including all 10 Universities in Jammu and Kashmir virtually, they said, adding the Universities include all Centre, State, deemed, and private institutions.

Modi’s address will be followed by a presentation on the Viksit Bharat vision, Yuva Samvad (Youth Parliament) sessions, the Viksit Bharat Shapath (Pledge), and felicitation of student achievers.

“The programme will actively integrate the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign),’’ the officials said, adding the initiative aims to channel the energy of the youth into nation-building efforts, reinforcing the vision of a self-reliant, progressive, and inclusive India by 2047.

The Prime Minister’s address assumed significance as it will touch crucial topics like ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Youth Samvad’ on August 12, which is observed as International Youth Day.

Officials said the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir have been conducting ‘Viksit Bharat’ programmes ahead of the main function, which will also be joined by top officials of the Universities.

“Apart from the students of Universities and Colleges, the youth organizations from Jammu and Kashmir can also join the function to be addressed by the Prime Minister,’’ the officials said, adding already there has been massive response among the youth.

Modi’s address to the youth is expected to be followed by interaction on ‘Yuva Samvad’ (Youth Dialogue) with some of the youth, mostly the students covering different aspects including how they visualize the ‘Viksit Bharat’ @ 2047.

“The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in alignment with the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’ has conceptualized the ‘Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program (YBYCP) to encourage youth engagement and leadership in the development transformation of India. This flagship programme leverages the MY Bharat Platform to serve as a vibrant bridge between the youth of India and its top lawmakers, fostering dialogue, leadership and civic participation among youth to create a new generation of informed and engaged citizens,’’ the officials said.

To advance the goal of developed India by 2047 among youth, the “Yuva Connect” program has been conceptualized with the aim to foster youth engagement and leadership in the developmental transformation of India.

The events are organized around discussions on the concept of Viksit Bharat with young people in educational institutions throughout India. Youth also get an opportunity to interact with eminent speakers, the officials said.

They added that through these programs, emphasis is laid on values such as national identity, civic engagement, social cohesion, human capital development, critical thinking, and empowerment, so that students are better prepared to contribute positively to their societies.

These interactions not only enhance individual growth but also strengthen the fabric of the nation as a whole, the officials said.
