Srinagar |: SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal on Monday convened a security review meeting in preparation for Independence Day-2025 at the District Police Office in Ganderbal.

The meeting included senior officers from the District Police, CRPF, and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) responsible for maintaining law and order during the national event. Key discussions focused on various security arrangements, such as venue security, intelligence gathering, area domination, patrolling strategies, and traffic management. The importance of real-time coordination among security agencies was emphasized, along with effective personnel deployment and vigilant monitoring of sensitive locations throughout the district. SSP Poswal directed the enhancement of surveillance measures, including the installation of CCTVs, frisking at entry points, and random vehicle checks at checkpoints. Preventive policing, community engagement, and rapid response capabilities were highlighted as essential components of the security strategy. Special attention was given to securing the main venue for the Independence Day function, ensuring the safe conduct of rehearsals, and maintaining a peaceful environment leading up to the event. SSP Poswal reiterated zero-tolerance policy towards any disruptions of peace and stressed the need for close collaboration with civil administration and intelligence agencies.
