Pilgrims Getting Sense Of Security, Safety
Srinagar: The ongoing Amarnath Yatra is approaching a significant milestone, with expectations that the number of pilgrims will exceed 300,000 by today (Sunday).
Official figures reveal that till Saturday 287,098 pilgrims have visited the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir since the Yatra commenced on July 3. On Saturday alone, 14,007 pilgrims, including men, women, children, sadhus, sadhvis, and transgender individuals, visited the shrine, alongside 367 security personnel. The Yatra has been experiencing a steady influx of pilgrims, and officials anticipate that the cumulative total will surpass 300,000 if conditions remain favorable. Pilgrims have expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the administration, highlighting the quality of food, lodging, and medical facilities along the route. Many have noted the cooperative nature of security personnel and the well-maintained Yatra track, contributing to a sense of safety and respect. Additionally, pilgrims have praised the peaceful atmosphere in the Valley, contrasting it with external perceptions. The 17th batch of 6,365 pilgrims departed from Jammu on Saturday, utilizing the twin routes of Baltal and Pahalgam. This batch included a diverse group of individuals, with specific numbers of males, females, children, sadhus, and sadhvis. The pilgrims were transported in a total of 211 vehicles, ensuring organized and efficient travel to the shrine.
