Dear Editor,
Sir,
Below mention are some of my concerns about some Indian languages which I want to highlight through the columns of your newspaper
Regional Translation Quality Concerns
Big Tech companies continue to deliver flawed translations for Indian regional languages like Hindi, Marathi,Kannada, Malyalam,Tamil & Telugu despite claiming AI progress. Their systems regularly produce tone deaf, contextually wrong & culturally offensive outputs. This isn’t just sloppy tech, it’s irresponsible deployment at scale. Misleading translations in bios, posts & ads can incite public outrage & damage credibility. Social media is flooded with proof yet the fixes remain superficial. Until they build truly inclusive, linguistically robust models with native language expertise these features should be paused. Half baked AI is not a substitute for linguistic intelligence & the consequences are already visible.
