8 vehicles seized for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Kulgam,8 accused also held: Police

Srinagar | :  Police on Wednesday said that an intensified crackdown on illegal mining activities in Kulgam has led to seizure of eight vehicles and the arrest of eight unlawful involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police team, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Qaimoh, confiscated six dumpers and two tippers, with specific registration numbers provided, adding therein that cases under FIR No.’s 52, 53, and 54/2025 have been registered at Police Station Qaimoh besides which further investigations are underway. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reiterated its  commitment to take action against violators and appealed people to report any information related to illegal mineral activities in their areas.
