Health Minister promises hike in MBBS intern stipends
Srinagar: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday reaffirmed the commitment of the Omar Abdullah-led government to support the medical community in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing officials during the inauguration of an additional block at the Bone & Joint Hospital Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that while the government is dedicated to assisting doctors, it expects them to respect the government and the institutions they serve. Choudhary commended the medical professionals for their exceptional contributions to healthcare, acknowledging their dedication and hard work. Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo also addressed the media, highlighting that the additional block at the Bone & Joint Hospital had been approved in 2014 and was finally completed. She expressed her satisfaction with the project’s inauguration by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. During the event, certificates were awarded to newly graduated MBBS doctors, with Itoo encouraging them to serve with commitment in their respective postings. Additionally, she assured that the process to enhance stipends for MBBS interns is underway, with an increase expected soon.
