Srinagar | Nov, 06: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday expressed pride over the inscription of Kalhaṇa’sRajatarangini, Mahabharata and Arthasastra in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Asia-Pacific Regional Register, describing the recognition as a celebration of India’s rich civilisational and intellectual heritage.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said the inclusion of the three historic works was a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir as well as the country. He said the inscription of Rajatarangini in particular celebrated the Union Territory’s rich intellectual heritage and reaffirmed the enduring significance of its historical and literary traditions. “This global recognition reaffirms the timeless value of India’s civilisational traditions and their contribution to humanity,” Sinha said. He also emphasised the collective responsibility to preserve and promote the invaluable knowledge and wisdom contained in these historic works for future generations.
