Jaishankar also conveys greetings of Prez Murmu, PM Modi to Chinese premiere
New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Tuesday called on Chinese President Xi Jinping during a gathering of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member nations.
The meeting marks Jaishankar’s first visit to China since the deterioration of India-China relations following the Galwan Valley clashes in June 2020. During the meeting, Jaishankar conveyed greetings from Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and he updated President Xi on the recent developments in bilateral ties. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of leadership guidance in improving relations between the two countries.
