Srinagar | : Police in Anantnag on Tuesday said that it has successfully recovered a lost bag belonging to an elderly pilgrim participating in the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
In a statement issued from zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Post Nunwan received an input about the loss of a bag belonging to an elderly pilgrim participating in the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, Stating therein further that the said bag bag reportedly contained approximately ₹40,000 cash along with several important documents.
Stating that upon receiving the information, police personnel of Police Post Nunwan promptly initiated a thorough search of the entire camp premises and during the search, the bag was located in a corner of the Nunwan camp Police in its statement further said that upon inspection, the full amount of ₹40,000 and all the essential documents were found intact inside the bag after which the recovered bag, along with the cash and documents, was handed over to the said pilgrim after proper verification and against a formal receipt.
