IUST–RRIUM Hold Third Joint Meet to Advance Unani-Scientific Integration

Awantipora : The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) and the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar, on Monday held their collaborative research meeting at RRIUM, Srinagar.
The meeting was jointly led by Dr. Arsheed A. Ganaie, Coordinator, Centre for AYUSH Science, IUST, and Dr. Irfat Ara, Officer Incharge, RRIUM, and focused on reviewing existing collaborations while charting future joint initiatives aimed at integrating Unani medicine with modern scientific approaches.
According to a statement issued from public relations office IUST here discussions at the meeting revolved around three core priorities: the modernization of Unani formulations through advanced scientific evaluation techniques, as emphasized by Prof. Ayub Qadri; the development of collaborative research proposals by leveraging mutual institutional expertise, highlighted by Dr. Irfat Ara; and the need to secure enhanced support from the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) for conducting clinical trials.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to renewing the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and advancing interdisciplinary research that bridges the traditional knowledge of Unani medicine with contemporary scientific methods. The IUST delegation comprised Dr. Rais Ahmad, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Rather, Dr. Aamir Hussain Dar, Dr. Assif Assad, Dr. Dharam Chand, Dr. Jan Mohammad, and Dr. Nisar Ahmad Dangroo.
