Srinagar : Deputy Inspector General of Police North Kashmir Range, Maqsood-ul-Zaman, on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive security review at the Shadipora Transit Camp in Bandipora district.
Accompanied by senior officials from various security agencies, including the J&K Police, CRPF, and SSB, the inspection emphasized the importance of mock drills simulating real-life scenarios such as crowd surges and emergency evacuations to enhance inter-agency coordination.
The review focused on ensuring that ground deployment aligns with a layered security plan along Yatri corridors. DIG Maqsood-ul-Zaman highlighted the necessity of clearly defined and disseminated role-based Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all forces, covering critical areas such as surveillance, intelligence sharing, convoy regulation, traffic control, and emergency response. He underscored that adherence to these SOPs is essential for comprehensive preparedness. Additionally, the assessment included a review of the overall deployment strategy, surveillance infrastructure, emergency response systems, and logistical support frameworks. This encompasses traffic management, sanitation, and contingency response mechanisms, all aimed at ensuring a safe and seamless pilgrimage experience.
