DDC Kupwara chairs DLRC meet, emphasizes financial inclusion, timely implementation of flagship schemes

Kupwara : Distt Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, today, chaired the meeting of Distt Level Review Committee (DLRC) here to review the performance of line Deptts and banks with regard to saturation of different government schemes in the Distt.
Addressing the meeting, DDC emphasized the officers of line Deptts and bankers for financial inclusion and saturation of various centrally sponsored schemes so that the people especially marginalized sections of the community get benefited at large.
She directed all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with greater coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets of financial inclusion, besides, generation of employment for unemployed youth of the Distt.
DDC directed the LDM to ensure weekly submission of progress reports for key government initiatives PM Surya Ghar, Mission YUVA, PM Vishwakarma, and PMEGP. This step aims to enhance transparency, accelerate implementation, and ensure timely monitoring of these transformative schemes, designed to empower citizens and boost grassroots development.
Highlighting the overall performance under the Annual Distt Credit Plan (ACP) for the financial year 2024–25, LDM informed the house that the Distt has recorded total credit disbursement of Rs.2534 Crores till the end of the fourth quarter, achieving 155% of the annual target of Rs.1637 Crores.
Under Priority Sector Lending, the Distt achieved disbursements to the tune of Rs.1188 Crores against the set target of Rs.1411 Crores, registering an achievement of 84%. In the Non-Priority Sector, disbursements stood at an impressive Rs.1345.52 Crores against the target of Rs.226 Crores, thereby achieving 595% of the annual target.
Further, under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), banks in the Distt have disbursed Rs.449.18 Crores among 24,222 beneficiaries, promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship. Under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), a total of Rs.8146.10 Lakhs have been disbursed against 1647 sanctioned cases up to 31st March 2025.
As part of the recently launched PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 131 cases have been received in the Distt, out of which 27 have been disbursed, 18 sanctioned, and 48 cases are under process as of 26th May 2025. In support of women-led development under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), banks have disbursed Rs.3827.39 Lakhs across 1337 cases out of a total 1393 applications received, reflecting a high disposal rate.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Kupwara, Mufti Fareed Ud Din; CPO, DDM NABARAD and officers from line Deptts, besides representatives from different banks and other concerned were present in the meeting.

Div Com Jammu reviews progress of National Clean Air Program Committee approves ITLS at identified locations of Jammu KH News Service Jammu | Sept. 15:Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the progress in implementation of the approved Action Plan for improvement of air quality in Jammu District under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP). The Divisional Commissioner is also the Chairperson of the District Level Monitoring Committee for monitoring the approved action Plan under NCAP. Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Devansh Yadav, Member Secretary of the Committee; Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Rakesh Minhas- the Member; Joint Commissioner JMC Abdul Sattar – the Nodal Officer; a representative from the J&K Pollution Control Committee, besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting. The Member Secretary briefed the Committee about the NCAP Action Plan 2026-27, including the financial allocation, expenditure, completed and ongoing works and proposed interventions aimed at improving air quality in Jammu city. He also listed other physical and financial achievements. The Committee reviewed various measures under the Action Plan, including road and footpath improvement, development of green spaces and vertical gardens, park improvement, pothole repair, traffic management, solid waste and construction & demolition waste management, besides the awareness activities. After detailed deliberations, the Committee approved the Integrated Traffic Light System (ITLS) at identified locations in Jammu to strengthen traffic management through an integrated and coordinated system. The Committee also approved the supplementary plan and plantation proposal for KotBhalwal and Bhagwati Nagar, aimed at strengthening green cover and improving the urban environment. The Committee further decided to re-examine the projects proposed to be taken up under the NCAP Action Plan 2026-27, with a focus on prioritising interventions having greater impact on air quality and ensuring effective utilisation of available resources. The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure timely completion of ongoing works and put in place a sustainable mechanism for proper maintenance of assets created under NCAP. He stressed that new green spaces, parks and other interventions be developed at suitable locations where their regular upkeep can be ensured. He further directed the officers to expedite implementation of the approved measures, with emphasis on dust control, road improvement, traffic management, greenery and effective solid waste management for achieving the objectives of the National Clean Air Programme.
