New Delhi: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Wednesday said that India turned down the offer of US President Donald Trump to defuse recent India-Pakistan military tensions.
Addressing a news conference here Athawale said, “US President Donald Trump had volunteered to mediate in the ongoing military tensions between India and Pakistan. However, New Delhi firmly rejected any third-party involvement.”
Athawale praised the opposition for supporting the government during the standoff but criticized them for politicizing the matter.
He urged the opposition to remain united with the government and avoid questioning its approach on such a crucial issue.
Pertinently Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Adampur airbase in Punjab on Tuesday praised the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive response during “Operation Sindoor” and the message they sent to Pakistan.
“Armed Forces had made it clear to the Pakistan Army that there is no place in Pakistan where terrorists can hide,” PM Modi said, adding, “If there is another terror attack, India will respond, and will definitely respond.”
PM Modi said that there’s a need for the armed forces to remain vigilant and to continually remind the enemy that “this is a new India.”
The Prime Minister stated that India had suspended its military actions only after receiving a plea for ceasefire from Pakistan
