Srinagar: Thousands of faithful on Thursday evening rushed to Hazratbal Shrine and mosques to bow their heads in nightloh prayer during the sacred night of Shab-e-Qadr.
Shab-e-Qadr, the Night of Power, is believed to be the most sacred night of Ramadan—a night when the heavens open, sins are forgiven, and prayers are answered. It is being observed all across the globe tonight, including in the Kashmir Valley.
Srinagar’s historic Hazratbal Shrine witnessed largest gathering of worshippers, with thousands expected to spend the night in deep devotion. Meanwhile, other mosques and shrines across the valley will resonate with spiritual recitations, as believers immerse themselves in prayers, Tilawat-e-Quran and supplications for mercy and peace tonight. Similarly, in homes across Kashmir, families prepared for the night with quiet devotion.
Meanwhile, authorities have ensured that major places of worship are ready to accommodate lakhs of worshippers. Security arrangements have also been tightened, and sanitation teams have been deployed to maintain cleanliness
