Meeting to review Price Control & Quality Checking held at B’pora

Bandipora : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, on Friday chaired a meeting to review measures for price control and quality checking in the district.
The meeting aimed to ensure availability of essential commodities, maintaining quality standards, and preventing adulteration of essentials in the market, with a particular focus on the month of Ramadan.
The ADC emphasized the importance of effective coordination among various departments to address these concerns and ensure that the public has access to essentials, food items at reasonable prices.
He stressed the need to maintain high-quality standards and prevent price hikes during the month of Ramadan.
On the occasion market checking teams were also constituted comprising representatives from the Revenue Department, Food Safety, Legal Metrology, FCS&CA, and the Police.
The ADC directed the concerned to ensure regular market checking besides assured that strict monitoring and vigilant checks will be conducted to prevent exploitation of consumers.
The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sumbal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Tehsildars and representatives from the Legal Metrology, Food Safety, and FCS&CA departments.
SDM Sumbal and Tehsildars from Sumbal subdivision also attended the meeting through virtual mode.
