Schools in Kashmir reopen on March 1, 2025 after a winter break that lasted over two months. The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) issued instructions to ensure a festive welcome for students. The People advised schools to celebrate the reopening as an event to be a remembered by very good way. Schools need to be kept clean and neat, and to have good outlook to attract every one. Schools were to ensure that the biometric/JK attendance portals were working and updated. Besides some schools are busy in maintaining registers or arrivals. Schools were to ensure repairs are done in advance for drinking water, electricity, toilets, and window panes. Schools were to prepare an institutional plan and timetable and complete clearly in time
Winter vacation schedule Winter vacations were scheduled in phases for students up to the 5th standard from December 10 to February 28, 2025.

Winter vacations were scheduled for students from the 6th to the 12th standard from December to February 28, 2025. During winter, students typically learn about the science of winter weather, including concepts like freezing temperatures, snow formation, shorter daylight hours, the impact of winter on plants and animals, seasonal changes, winter holidays and celebrations, and sometimes even winter-themed art, crafts, and stories depending on the grade level and curriculum. Important Subjects learnt during winter break:
• Science: Understanding how water freezes, the different types of precipitation (snow, sleet, hail), the role of the sun in winter, and the concept of the winter solstice.
• English: Dream of everybody to learn and speak engl8sh fluently It is dream of everybody to be crazy and fluent in speaking.
• Mathematics: It Is stone in most of the people. Most ones tried their best to learnt it properly.
• Ecology: How are animals adapt to winter conditions like hibernation or migration, the dormancy of plants, and the impact of cold weather on ecosystems.
• Cultural Studies: Exploring winter holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and their traditions, as well as winter festivals around the world.
• Creative Activities: Winter-themed art projects, storytelling, writing about winter experiences, and winter-inspired music.
• Outdoor Activities (weather permitting): Observing winter weather, snow activities like building snowmen, ice skating, and learning about winter sports.
