Srinagar : Senior BJP leader and Jammu ans Kashmir party spokesperson Altaf Thakur has strongly condemned the brutal and cowardly attack that led to the killing of a former army soldier and injuries to his family members Kulgam district.
Thakur described the heinous act as a reflection of sheer frustration and desperation by the enemies of peace who are hell-bent on destabilizing the region. “This barbaric attack on an innocent family is not just an assault on individuals but an attack on humanity, peace, and the very fabric of Kashmiriyat. The perpetrators of this gruesome crime are enemies of peace, progress, and the values that Jammu and Kashmir stand for. They are cowards who strike at the defenseless, thinking such acts of terror can intimidate us—but they are gravely mistaken,” Thakur said. He further stated, “These mindless acts of violence will not break the spirit of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Instead, they will strengthen our collective resolve to fight terrorism with an iron fist. The sacrifices of the innocent will not go in vain, and the culprits behind this despicable act will be hunted down and brought to justice.” Thakur urged security agencies to intensify operations to track down the perpetrators swiftly and ensure they face the full force of the law. He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed souls, reiterating that the BJP stands firmly with the people of Kulgam in this hour of grief. “This is not just an act of terror; it is a desperate attempt to push Kashmir back into darkness. But let it be clear—terrorism has no place in the new Jammu and Kashmir. The people have chosen peace, and no amount of bloodshed can reverse that,” Thakur asserted.
