DC B’pora Presides Over Orientation-cum-Awareness Prog for Agricultural Entrepreneurs

Bandipora : The Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers’ Welfare on Saturday conducted a day-long orientation-cum-awareness programme for Krishi Udyamis (agricultural entrepreneurs). The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri.
The programme highlighting the services available to the farming community through the Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs)
On the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of empowering agricultural entrepreneurs and strengthening the farming community. He interacted directly with the Krishi Udyamis, gaining insights into their challenges and aspirations, and assured them of the administration’s full support in their endeavors.
The orientation programme provided a platform for Krishi Udyamis to learn about various government schemes, initiatives, and resources available to them through the Kisan Khidmat Ghars.
Experts from the Agriculture Department delivered informative sessions on topics ranging from modern farming techniques and market access to financial assistance and post-harvest management.
The programme also facilitated networking opportunities among the entrepreneurs, encouraging them to share experiences and best practices.
Highlighting the importance of Kisan Khidmat Ghars, DC Bandipora directed the officers from the Agriculture and allied departments to finalize all preparations to make the KKGs functional. He underlined that, in the coming days, the KKGs will become hubs where farmers can easily access government schemes, modern trends, technologies in agriculture and allied sectors, as well as other agricultural inputs.
During the programme, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zafar Husson Shawl, highlighted the significance of the scheme in promoting entrepreneurship and providing financial assistance to farmers for setting up agro-based enterprises.
The program was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Maqbool Lone, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO), Assistant Director Fisheries, and officials from the Animal Husbandry Department.
