State Taxes Enforcement team conducts surprise inspection at Dalogra Rajouri

Rajouri: Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes Enforcement Wing Samba Sanjay Gupta conducted a surprise inspection here on Monday at Dalogra Rajouri.
During the inspection conducted on the directions of the Commissioner State Taxes P.K. Bhat and under the close supervision of Additional Commissioner State Taxes Jammu Namrita Dogra, the team intercepted several vehicles to verify their e-way bills and tax invoices to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Highlighting the department’s efforts to curb tax evasion, Sanjay Gupta informed that a total penalty of ₹19.56 lakh was imposed and recovered from tax evaders in Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts during December 2024. The cumulative penalty realized from April 2024 to December 2024 stands at an impressive ₹1.48 crore, with 2,92,922 e-way bills verified during this period.
As part of the inspection on Monday, a few vehicles were detained for physical verification and detailed scrutiny of documents to ascertain compliance with tax laws.
The DC State Taxes emphasized that no GST evasion shall be tolerated and urged all dealers and transporters to ensure strict compliance with GST regulations.
Such operations demonstrate the department’s unwavering commitment to ensuring tax compliance and deterring evasion through rigorous enforcement measures.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of STO Enforcement Rajouri-Poonch Range, Farooq Choudhary; Inspector Anil Sharma; Sub-Inspector Shahbaz Ahmed; and other officials of the State Taxes Department.
