DHSK establishes 24×7 control room at Directorate hqrs

“Mobilize all resources to manage all patients at respective hospitals to avoid referrals: DHSK to CMOs, MSs”

Srinagar : In order to manage any eventuality due to recent snowfall, a 24×7 control room has been established at headquarters of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHS) Bemina, Srinagar.
As per a circular issued by the DHSKChief Medical Officers (CMOs) and Medical Superintendents (MSs) of all hospitals have been directed to mobilize all sources so as to manage patients at respective health centres to avoid referrals.
“In view of snow fall in Kashmir Division, all the Chief Medical Officers/Medical Superintendents/Block Medical Officers are hereby impressed upon to mobilize & gearing up all resources in terms of Doctors, Paramedics, availability of drugs in sufficient quantity, readiness of fleet of Ambulances, ensuring power backup & heating arrangements in all Health Care Institutions across the valley, so that the patients coming to the Health Care Institutions are managed at the respective Health Care Facility, so as to avoid any referrals to Tertiary Care Hospitals, especially when all the roads remain cut off during snow in valley,” reads the circular.
“Besides, they are further instructed to follow the directions already issued by this Directorate in letter & spirit on the subject with special reference to activate 24×7 Control Rooms at District as well Block level, so as to manage any eventuality that may arise and ensure that all the Drugs are available in all the hospitals, availability of Doctors & Paramedical staff in the hospital 24×7,” it reads further.
It states further that Instructions with regard to Hard to reach/Cut off areas especially during snowing stand already notified, which may be implemented in letter and spirit and compliance thereof be shared with this Directorate on daily basis.
“Moreover, measures may also be taken to provide adequate heating arrangements to the patients and staff. Besides, doors and windows of all Government Health Care Facilities are covered, so as to avoid heat loss,” it reads.
