4 gamblers arrested in Srinagar, Stake money also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested four gamblers and also seized stake money from their possession in Srinagar district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on reliable inputs about the gambling activities a Police party of Police Station Bemina raided the specific location and arrested four gamblers. Police in its statement further said that the detained gamblers were identified as Mohd Sultan Hanji S/o Ab Rehman R/o Shah Colony Fruit Mandi, Altaf Ahmed Guroo S/o Ab Hameed, Fayaz Ahmad Dandroo S/o Gh Mohd and Irshad Ahmad Khanday S/o Gh Mohd Khanday, all residents of Mansoor Colony Bemina. Stating that the stake money of Rs 7,190/-, playing cards and three mobile phones were also recovered from the possession of the said accused Police in its statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bemina besides initiating further investigations into the case. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law and also appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local Police units.
