Srinagar : Police on Thursday attached a single storey residential house valuing approximately Rs.20 lacs, belonging to a drug peddler namely Javaid Ahmad Ganaie S/o Mohd Shaban GanieR/o Loolipora Kakapora in Pulwama.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Pulwama Police. “The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner”, the statement reads,adding therein that the said drug peddler is presently lodged in central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu under PIT NDPS act.
Stating that the action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR no 15/2023 U/S 8/15 of NDPS act of Police Station Kakapora and FIR No. 220/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act of Police Station Pulwama, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to combat the drug menace.
