Srinagar: MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, on Monday conducted a series of significant activities in his constituency, underlining his commitment to improving public healthcare and supporting the people in their times of need.
In a pivotal move to bolster healthcare infrastructure, Farooq Ahmad Shah chaired a review meeting at the Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tangmarg, where he inaugurated a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU is set to provide specialized and critical care for newborns, a long-awaited facility that will greatly benefit the local population. CMO Baramulla and BMO Tangmarg participated in this crucial meeting where multiple decisions were taken including upgradation of OPD, heating facilities in Labour Room, Operation Theatre & In-Patient Department and emphasis was laid on proper sanitation of the hospital premises including canteen.
During the visit, the MLA also inspected the Chandil-Wanigam Hospital building, which had been abandoned for years. With his persistent and aggressive efforts, the building is undergoing a much-needed facelift. It is expected that basic medical facilities will soon be operational, ensuring enhanced healthcare services for the surrounding areas. Later in the day, Farooq Ahmad Shah visited the villages of Ferozepora, Qazipora, Mulbangil, and Chuker. Demonstrating his deep connection with the people, he personally met bereaved families who had lost their loved ones, to offer his heartfelt condolences and sympathies. He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and reassured the families of his unwavering support during these difficult times. MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah remains steadfast in his mission to uplift the standard of living in Gulmarg, focusing on accessible healthcare, infrastructure development, and compassionate governance.
