62nd Annual Raising Day of Home guards, Civil Defence

Jammu : 62nd Annual Raising Day of Homeguards & Civil Defence was on Friday celebrated at SDRF 2nd Bn Hqrs. Gulshan Ground Jammu. Umesh Kumar, DIG HG/CD & SDRF Jammu congratulated all on the occasion of Raising Day and highlighted the duties as well as responsibilities of Homeguards and Civil Defence volunteers as first responders during any kind of disaster. He also praised the role and assistance extended by all officers and men from Civil Defence and Homeguards during the past one year.
During the event, greeting messages of his Excellency President of India, Prime Minister of India, Union Home Minister, Lieutenant Governor J&K, Chief Minister J&K and senior dignitaries of Govt. of India and Union Territory Administration were also read out. Zahid Naseem Manhas, , Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn Jammu, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, , Director Homeguards Jammu, Atul Sharma, JKPS, Staff officer to Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K, alongwith wardens of Civil Defence and volunteers of Homeguards participated in the function. Officers and officials of Directorate of HG/CD & SDRF J&K-Jammu, DIG, HG/CD & SDRF Jammu, SDRF 2nd Bn Jammu, Director HG Jammu were also present on the occasion.
The Annual Raising Day was also celebrated in Srinagar, Kashmir where Masroor Ahmad Mir, SSP JKPS, Commandant SDRF 1st Bn. Srinagar was chief guest on the occasion. The wardens/volunteers of Civil Defence and Home guards volunteers along with the officers/officials of HG/CD & SDRF of Kashmir Province were also present on the occasion. On the occasion, welcome address was presented by Anita Pawar, Dy.SP, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu while vote of thanks was presented by Dev Raj, Dy.SP, Principal CTI HG/CD Kotbhalwal Jammu.
