Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two suspects for involved in illegal mining & transportation of minerals in Sopore besides seizing 2 vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said a police team of Police Station Tarzoo headed by SHO Police Station Tarzoo seized 2 vehicles (tractors) and arrested their drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals. Stating that the drivers arrested were identified as Javaid Ahmad Dar S/o Mohammad Ramzan Dar R/o Haritar Sopore and Parvaiz Ahmad Rather S/o Ghulam Ahmad Rather R/o Tarzoo Sopore, Police in its statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Tarzoo besides initiating further investigation.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
