Drug peddler arrested in Ang, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs, a police party of Police Station Aishmuqam at a checkpoint established at Ainoo Brah intercepted a suspect Shabir Ahmad Hajam S/o Habibullah Hajam R/o Ainoo Brah and during search recovered approximately 750 grams of cannabis powder and 8Kgs of cannabis husk from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 89/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Aishmuqam besides initiating further investigation , Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward or Dial 112 with any inputs regarding drug peddling in their vicinity and extend their cooperation in eradicating the drug menace from the society.
