Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested two suspects for illegal mining & transportation of minerals in Baramulla besides seized two vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said a police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO Polcie Station Sheeri, seized 2 vehicles (Tippers) and also arrested their drivers identified as Ab Razak Sheikh S/o Mohd Rajab & Nasar Ahmad Parray S/o Mohd Yousuf, both residents of Kitchama Baramulla involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Gantamulla.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sheeri besides initiating investigations, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed local populations to hare information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
