Handwara The Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Kupwara orchestrated 4th consecutive zonal level medical assessment cum Fittment camp for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Handwara, specifically targeting the Mawer and Langate zones, in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO) Kanpur, under the aegis of the SAMAGRA SHIKSHA initiative.
On the forth day of this endeavor, no fewer than 119 CWSN were meticulously evaluated, with many being recommended for an array of assistive devices, aids, and appliances to be provided gratis by SAMAGRA SHIKSHA J&K. These provisions align with the goals of the Inclusive Education Wing, designed to ensure that these children may pursue their education in tandem with their peers, thus facilitating a trajectory toward a self-sufficient, fulfilling existence, consonant with societal contributions.
In attendance were , in-charge Principal, Reyaz Ah Kirmani, DNO Inclusive Education who personally supervised the assessments under guidance of CEO Kupwara DNO urged the assessment team to approach these vulnerable students with compassion and to take all requisite measures to empower them by providing the necessary supportive devices, thereby enabling their continued educational pursuits. The event was meticulously organized, with ample seating, proper arrangements for assessments, and refreshment provisions for the CWSN attendees. The District Coordinator for Inclusive Education extended a formal note of gratitude to all stakeholders—including the Principal of GHSS Handwara, Zonal Education Officer (ZEOS) Mawar& Langate, Inclusive Education (IE) team, ALIMCO team , Zonal Nodal Officers (ZNOS), and School Nodal Officers (SNOs)—for their unwavering support and cooperation in the successful execution of the camp. The initiative will persist throughout the district to cover all identified CWSN, with similar camps scheduled across all zones, ensuring the comprehensive assessment of all identified CWSN and out-of-school children, in line with the broader objectives of inclusive education as outlined under the scheme.
