BJP transforms J&K into an experimental laboratory: Tariq Karra
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegramEmail

Srinagar: KK Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra on Sunday alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) transformed Jammu and Kashmir from a thriving tourism hub to an experimental laboratory.

Karra made these remarks while reacting to the claims made by BJP leaders regarding transformation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Karra stated that “while transformation is indeed happening in Jammu and Kashmir, it’s not what the BJP claims. Instead, the region has been transformed from a thriving tourism hub to an experimental laboratory”.

“The BJP’s so-called ‘transformation’ has only led to chaos and suffering for the common people,” Karra said and added, “We, on the other hand, took practical and diplomatic steps to restore peace in Jammu and Kashmir during our tenure until 2014, without treating our citizens like experimental animals or turning our state into a laboratory.”

The PCC President emphasized that the Congress government’s efforts yielded tangible results that were felt by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He urged the BJP to prioritize the state’s interests over party politics and adopt people-friendly policies.

“During this election time, they should understand the sensitivity of the situation and the importance of this timing,” Karra said.

“The BJP should behave responsibly, putting the needs of Jammu and Kashmir first, rather than exploiting the situation for political gains. The people deserve better than to be used as pawns in their political games”, Karra added.
