Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said that people will respond to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with the ballot, what they did five years ago to Jammu and Kashmir.

“BJP is frustrated after seeing the support of people in favour of PDP”, Mehbooba told media persons in south Kashmir on Sunday.

“What they (BJP) did 5 years ago (abrogated Article 370) to Jammu and Kashmir, the people are very angry for that and will reply with the ballot during the upcoming assembly election”, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister told media persons in south Kashmir on Sunday.

Asked about BJP is attacking regional parties in Kashmir, Mehbooba said “People want to reply to BJP with the ballot that is why they (BJP) are narrating anything”.

Mehbooba said that what PDP did during his brief tenure of government, National Conference could not do that in 40-45 years in Jammu and Kashmir.

PDP Chief Mehbooba said “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have understood that PDP had established good governance in the state…Universities, colleges, and AIIMS were established by PDP…If Mufti Mohammed Sayeed had not founded PDP then the National Conference would still be functioning in a dictatorial manner…People are very angry and upset with the National Conference…”

She said the PDP provided relief to the people who were scared of POTA, Task Force, Ikhwan, and Army during their regime.

Asked that some parties blame those who could not ally are directly supporting BJP, Mehbooba said “Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina clearly said that which senior leader of NC was meeting Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi pledging for government formation without any preconditions”.
