Samba : In Continuation to the preparations for the upcoming elections, District Election Officer (DEO) Rajesh Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vinay Kumar conducted extensive inspection of the polling stations across the Assembly Constituency (AC) Samba-70, here on Friday.
The visit, led by DEO Rajesh Sharma and SSP Vinay Kumar, aimed to ensure that all polling stations are fully equipped and prepared to facilitate a smooth voting process.
DEO Rajesh Sharma and SSP Vinay Kumar along with a team of civil and Police officers thoroughly inspected polling stations in the 70-Samba AC, focusing on key aspects of voter convenience and accessibility. Their evaluation covered the availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF), including ramps for differently-abled voters, drinking water, proper seating arrangements and clear signage to guide voters.
During the visit, DEO Rajesh Sharma emphasized the importance of creating an inclusive and accessible voting environment.
The officials also visited schools that will serve as polling stations, where they engaged with staff and students to assess the infrastructure and identify any areas requiring improvement. This interaction was key in ensuring that the facilities are optimized not only for the election but also for their ongoing academic use.
The DEO also inspected the kitchens of the schools’ Mid Day Meal programs to ensure hygiene and safety standards are being met.
DEO and SSP were accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Samba, Kusum Chib, Tehsildar Samba, and other senior officials, who contributed valuable insights and support during the inspection.
