DC leads One-Hour Shramdaan under “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, EkSath” Campaign

Mega cleanliness drive held at historic Chowgan Grounds Kishtwar

 

Kisthtwar : As part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva – 2026” campaign, the District Administration Kishtwar Thursday  organized a mega one-hour cleanliness drive (Shramdaan) here at the historic Chowgan Grounds  under the banner “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, EkSath”.

The cleanliness drive was led by Deputy Commissioner   Pankaj Kumar Sharma with attendance from all District and Sectoral Officers, their staff and SafaiKaramcharis.

The event was organized with the objective of reinforcing the message of cleanliness, civic responsibility and behavioural change through Jan Bhagidari, while encouraging collective ownership of public spaces.

The Deputy Commissioner administered the Swachhta Pledge to all participants. He appreciated the enthusiasm and wholehearted participation of all officers, officials, sanitation workers and the general public.

He emphasized that cleanliness is a collective responsibility and called for sustained public participation, behavioural change and active community engagement to maintain clean and hygienic public spaces. He urged everyone to carry forward the spirit of Shramdaan beyond the campaign and make cleanliness a regular collective practice.

The collective Shramdaan at Chowgan Ground reflected the spirit of “Swachhata Hi Seva”, emphasizing that sustained cleanliness requires active participation and shared responsibility among government institutions, elected representatives and citizens.
