Baramulla: The District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired a comprehensive review meeting on Friday at the DC Office meeting hall to ensure thorough preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections.
The DEO highlighted the need to develop a comprehensive database for election personnel and finalize the First Level Check (FLC) procedures for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). He also stressed the establishment of a Media Center and the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) to oversee media-related activities.
DEO Sherpa directed officers to intensify Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities. He emphasized the need for targeted campaigns to educate voters about the election process, the importance of their participation, and how to access voting facilities. The aim is to increase voter turnout and ensure that all eligible voters are well-informed and prepared for the election, thereby reinforcing the democratic process.
For infrastructure, DEO Sherpa directed the setup of Dispatch Centers and Strong Rooms to securely store election materials.
