“Pak Infiltrated Civil Society With Help Of Mainstream Or Regional Politics In Valley”: Says DGP Swain

Jammu: The Director General J&K RR Swain said on Monday that Pakistan successfully infiltrated all important aspects of civil society, with the help of so-called mainstream or regional politics in the Valley.
While addressing students at the Orientation Programme at the Indian Institute of Management, DGP Swain said, “Pakistan successfully infiltrated all important aspects of civil society, thanks to so-called mainstream or regional politics in the Valley. There is ample evidence to show that many had owned the art of running with the hare and hunting with the hound, which left both the common man and the security bewildered, frightened, and confused.”
“Visiting the homes of slain militants and expressing sympathy in public was normal. While the elimination of new recruits in militancy was allowed and tacitly encouraged, those who facilitated recruitment and arranged finances were never investigated. SP rank officers were arrested and put in jails alongside militants, for crimes they had never committed. The drowning of two girls in 2014 was allowed to be hijacked by narrative militancy, which held the Valley at ransom, hartals, and rioting for many weeks. A very detailed investigation by the CBI and verified by the AIIMS forensics proved it was an accident,” he added.
The DGP also pointed out that things had come to such a pass that the so-called mainstream political parties had started cultivating leaders of militant networks and sometimes directly to further their electoral prospects. Further, RR Swain emphasized that due to the strategy of the government, security forces and population, this dubious duplicity has been put to an end. “It is the unflinching stance and strategy of the Government of India and security forces backed by a population since last several years that this duality and dubious duplicity has been put to an end or an attempt has been made towards it which has put the national security adversary to the back foot,” he said. “It is the call of the highest level of policy-making that political and economic opportunity would no longer be prerogative of privileged few but will be available to all,” the DGP added.
