Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested lawyer Mian Muzzafar and booked him under the Public Safety Act (PSA), his family said on Sunday.
Muzaffar, who is the nephew of former Bar Association President Mian Qayoom, is the third lawyer arrested by the police in the past fortnight. Mian Qayoom was arrested by J&K police in the murder of Advocate Babar Qadri in 2020.
“Advocate Mian Muzaffar was arrested by the police in the midnight raid from home and booked under PSA”, family said.
However, police have yet to issue a statement over Muzaffar’s arrest.
Senior advocate and chairperson of J&K High Court Bar Association Nazir Ronga was also detained by police on Thursday and booked under PSA.
