Ramban : Under the dynamic leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, the Child Helpline (CHL) Ramban is steadfastly committed to safeguarding the rights and well-being of children in distress. Through prompt and decisive actions, the helpline has successfully resolved several critical cases, demonstrating its dedication to provide timely support and protection.
In an impressive display of efficiency and coordination, Child Helpline Ramban successfully rescued a kidnapped minor girl. On May 12, 2024, the helpline received a distressing call reporting the abduction of a minor girl from Langya Morh Bagna, Ramban. The caller alleged that a resident of Govindpora Maitra had kidnapped the girl and was holding her hostage at another residence in Village Kundi. Upon receiving the complaint, the Child Helpline, with the support of local police, launched a swift and decisive operation. At 11:30 PM, on the same day, they conducted a raid on the specified residence, successfully rescuing the minor girl.
Following her rescue, the child was presented before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), which, after completing all necessary formalities, placed her in the Child Care Institution Parisha. Ultimately, the minor girl was reunited with her family, bringing a joyous conclusion to a potentially tragic situation.
Similarly, Child Helpline Ramban successfully located and rescued a missing minor girl at Banihal Railway Station on 15 June, 2024. At 10:00 PM, the helpline received an urgent report regarding a missing girl at the railway station. Under the supervision of the District Child Protection Officer, a team led by Project Coordinator of Child Helpline Ramban, Muddasar Jiral, was promptly dispatched to the scene.
The team, involving all relevant stakeholders and in collaboration with a local NGO, successfully located and rescued the minor girl. She was subsequently placed in the Child Care Institution (CCI) Parisha Ramban for her safety and care. After completing the requisite formalities, Child Helpline Ramban, under the supervision and direction of the District Child Protection Officer, transferred the child to the Child Welfare Committee Badgam, ensuring her continued protection and well-being.
The efficient handling of these cases not only rescued vulnerable children but also reinforced the community’s trust in the helpline and local authorities.
