Chairperson DDC Kishtwar chairs quarterly General Council Meet

Kishtwar: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Kishtwar Pooja Thakur on Monday presided over the General Council meeting here at Mini Secretariat to finalise plans under the Area Development Fund (DDC/BDC/PRI Grants) 2024-25.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairperson DDC, Saima Shabir Lone; Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav; DDC members, I/C CEO District Development Council (ADC) Pawan Kotwal; Chief Planning Officer Shahnawaz Bali; ACD Phulail Singh and other concerned stakeholders.
At the outset, ACD welcomed the members of the general council and apprised them about the objectives of the meeting.
The chairperson Pooja Thakur reviewed the sector wise physical and financial status of the works taken up under District Capex, Area Development Plan & DDC, BDC and PRIs plan for the FY 2024-25.
The meeting focused on allocation and utilization of ADF Grants to bolster developmental initiatives across the district.
Chairperson Pooja Thakur emphasized the importance of prudent planning and transparent execution to ensure that the grants positively impact the socio-economic landscape of Kishtwar. She underscored the council’s commitment to prioritizing projects that align with local needs and aspirations.
The Chairperson expressed confidence that the finalized plans would pave the way for sustainable growth and equitable development in the district. She urged all stakeholders to collaborate effectively to expedite project implementation and achieve tangible outcomes.
She said, District Development Council is committed to harness resources effectively and foster inclusive development across Kishtwar.
I/C CEO Development Council also apprised the chair about the action taken report (ATR) of the grievances raised in the previous general council meeting. The officers of the concerned departments explained the progress on the grievances pertaining to their departments.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav redressed the majority of the grievances on spot in the meeting and assured that the rest of the grievances will be redressed in a time bound manner.
The block wise issues and grievances related to the departments of PHE, Health, JPDCL, Education, PWD etc were also highlighted by the DDC members which were noted down by Concerned officers.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav assured that necessary directions will be given to the concerned officers for immediate resolution of the highlighted issues.
