DLSA Kupwara holds one-day Workshop on BNS, BBBP at HSS Khumriyal

Kupwara: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kupwara in collaboration with Mission Shakti (Sankalp-Hub) Kupwara on Friday organized a One Day Workshop on Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) at Higher Secondary School, Khumriyal Kupwara.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Shazia Tabasum, Chairperson, DLSA (Pr. District & Session Judge) Kupwara, and under the immediate guidance of Manzoor Ahmad Khan, Secretary, DLSA/Sub-Judge, Kupwara.
The programme was aimed at creating awareness among the participants regarding key features and changes incorporated in Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Resource Person, Tawseef Raja (Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel Kupwara) deliberated on key features and changes incorporated in Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), offences against Women and Children under BNS. He also highlighted the key provision of various Child Legislations like Child Labour Laws, PCPNDT Act and Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.
Shagufta, Gender Specialist SANKALP-Hub Kupwara, highlighted and spread awareness regarding various women centric social welfare schemes (SMAS, BBBP). She also sensitized the female students of the institution regarding menstrual health and hygiene and demonstrated the working of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine in presence of female staff and students of the institution.
The programme was attended by Principal, Higher Secondary School, Khumriyal, Staff Members of the school and officials from Mission Shakti (SANKALP Hub) Kupwara, students of the said institution and Para legal Volunteers of DLSA Kupwara.
