Kulgam : The first batch of pilgrims for Amaranth Yatra reached Navyug tunnel in Qazigund on Friday morning.
All the pilgrims were welcomed by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Amir Khan along with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal and other officials from civil and police department, besides civil society members, trade fraternity, fruit growers and other local citizens.
The Yatra began earlier on Friday amid tight security and other arrangements.
On this occasion, DC along with SSP and locals flagged them off for an onward journey towards the Yatra.
