DDC Chairman Doda Reviews Dev Projects & Promotion Of Tourism

Doda: District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Dhanantar Singh Kotwal on Thursday chaired a meeting to assess various developmental initiatives and tourism prospects. The meeting, attended by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh focused on several key agendas.
One of the primary discussion centered around the status of PMGSY roads in the district, especially those projects that have been abandoned or left incomplete. Emphasis was placed on identifying challenges and devising strategies to expedite their completion to enhance connectivity across Doda.
Another significant agenda was the tourism plan aimed at capitalizing on the potential of new tourist destinations opening up in the region. The meeting delved into the employment opportunities that could arise from the development of tourism infrastructure, emphasizing the need for strategic planning and execution.
Issues pertaining to forest permissions and their impact on ongoing projects were also addressed during the meeting. The stakeholders reviewed the current procedures and discussed measures to streamline the process for smoother implementation of developmental activities.
Furthermore, discussions were held regarding the progress of key projects such as the multi-story car parking complex, shopping complex, and bus stand in Doda. Dhanantar Singh emphasized the importance of completing these infrastructural projects to enhance civic amenities and support local economic activities.
The meeting underscored the commitment of local authorities to accelerate development efforts in Doda, ensuring holistic progress and sustainable growth across various sectors. The ongoing collaboration between the DDC and relevant stakeholders aims to address challenges effectively and capitalize on emerging opportunities for the benefit of the district’s residents.
The DDC Chairman passed various directions to officers of various line departments to ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated time. He also urged maintaining coordination and responsibility towards all execution works for the prosperity of the area. He further ensured that new works and schemes shall be started with dedication and completed responsibly.
The meeting discussed the status of PMGSY roads, with a focus on addressing stalled projects to enhance connectivity across Doda. The meeting also highlighted plans to harness the burgeoning tourism potential of new destinations in the region.
Significant attention was given to the employment prospects associated with tourism infrastructure development, underscoring the need for meticulous planning and swift implementation.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairperson DDC Sangeeta Rani Bhagat, ADC Sudarshan Kumar, CPO Manesh Kumar, PO ICDS Paramjeet Singh, ACP Mohammad Ashraf, ACD Manoj Kumar, alongside all DDC members and various district officers.
