Theft case solved in B’la, Stolen property recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has solved a theft case in Baramulla by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 14/06/2024, Police Post Old Town Baramulla received a written complaint from Intezamia Committee of Masjid Madina Dargah Aaliya Old Town Baramulla, who alleged therein that donation box of Masjid Sharief has been looted by some unknown persons during the night. Stating that a case under FIR No. 142/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Baramulla besides initiating further investigation, Police in its statement said that during the course of investigation, technical evidence was scrutinised which led to the identification of accused as Waseem Ahmad Chichek S/o Abdul Gaffar R/o Lal Baab Sahab Arampora Soporewho was subsequently arrested and during questioning. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that the accused admitted his involvement in the commission of crime, Stating therein further that on the disclosure of the said accused stolen property was recovered from his possession and investigation of the case as such is going on.
