2 drug smugglers booked under PIT NDPS Act in B’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has booked two drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla after obtaining formal detention orders from competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the said drug smugglers namely Ehtisham ud Din Khan S/o Late Bahsir Ahmad R/o Gousia Mohalla Ladoora Watergam and Farhat Begum @Fancy wife of Rayees Ahmad Khan R/o Trikanjan Boniyar have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, adding therein that the booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu and Central Jail Srinagar respectively.
Stating that many cases were registered against the said accused persons who were also were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Town Baramulla, Kreeri, Trikanjan, Boniyar, and other areas of the district , Police in its statement further said that despite their involvement in many FIRs the accused did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
