Excavator, 6 Tractors seized for illegal mining in B’la, 7 drivers arrested : Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested an excavator for illegal mining of minerals at Goigam, Aboora, Kreeri and Shrai B’la and seized six tractors from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the action was taken under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg and SDPO Kreeri assisted by SHO Police Station Tangmarg, SHO Police Station Kunzer & SHO Police Station Kreeri.
Police in its statement further said that it has seized one excavator, six Tractors and arrested seven drivers identified as Abdul Lateef Wani S/o Gh Mohd R/o Aarth Budgam, Asil Ahmad Dar S/o Ab Gani R/o Chichiloora, Mohd Akbar Kawa S/o Ab Rehman R/o Kawapora Shadipora, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi S/o Abdul Gani R/o Chichiloora, Mohd Ashraf Bhat S/o Gh Nabi R/o Hanjiwera, Shakir Ahmad Bhat S/o Shabir Ahmad R/o Wailoo Kunzer & Mushtaq Ahmad S/o Gh Mohammad R/o Poonch
Stating that the accused has been found involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals, Police in its statement further said that case under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
