Narco-smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in Ba’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has booked a drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the drug peddler namely Mohammad Rafiq Khan @ Rafi Raja S/o Ghulam Hassan Khan R/o Trikanjan Boniyar, Baramulla was booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, adding therein that the booked drug smuggler was detained from Jammu and subsequently lodged at Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Police in its statement further said that many cases were registered against the said drug smuggler for being involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Uri, Boniyar, Trikanjan, Bijhama & other areas of District, adding therein that despite his involvement in many FIRs the said accused did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that people of the area have appreciated its role against drug peddlers, reiterating there in its commitment to continue efforts to keep society free from drug abuse.
