Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested arrested three drug peddlers in Handwara and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Qalamabad headed by SHO Police Station Qalamabad during patrolling at Chuntipora crossing intercepted three suspects identified as Danish Ahmad Malla S/o Ab Majeed Malla R/o Batagund, Ashiq Hussain Dar S/o Abdul Rashid R/o Watergam & Naseer Ahmad Lone S/o Abdul Razaq R/o Hadipora and during search recovered 80 gms of Charas like substance from the possession of the said accused who were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 19/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered besides initiating further investigation, the Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement police urged people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. Police also reiterated its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
