Srinagar: Below is the timeline of weeklong public activities, major Incidents and Top Official Meets In J&K:-
1. The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed shock and grief over the loss of lives in the n road accident. In a condolence message, the Lt Governor said: “I am deeply shocked to learn of the unfortunate road accident in n, in which precious lives have been lost. “ I send my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I have issue instructions to the District Administration and Divisional Commissioner to render all assistance, as provided in rule, to the kin of victims”, he said.
2: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha interacted with the members of JATF, a Mumbai-based nonprofit organization, dedicated to empower youth through education. The Lt Governor appreciated the group for helping students to achieve their dreams through its various coaching and mentoring projects across the country. “JATF is guided by the noble ideals of Lord Mahavir and it is committed to give back to the society. JATF’s project for the competitive exam is creating a human resource that will take advantage of new opportunities for development and contribute to the growth of the nation,” the Lt Governor said.
3. Preparations for the annual AmarnathYatra have commenced as health certificates are being arranged in ten districts of Jammu division, allowing pilgrims to initiate their journey from the specified date. Around 112 doctors have been designated to issue Compulsory Health Certificates (CHC) from health centers across the region.
4. Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the installation of High Definition (HD) cameras in all sensitive zones across the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). The decision to deploy HD cameras in sensitive areas of J&K aims to closely monitor polling stations for any illegal activities, particularly in zones identified as sensitive within J&K.
5.In anticipation of the upcoming LokSabha elections, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law and Order in Jammu and Kashmir, who also serves as the State Police Nodal Officer (SPNO) for the 2024 parliamentary elections, led a crucial high-level meeting on Thursday. The meeting, held at the Police Control Room (PCR), aimed to assess and bolster preparedness for the electoral process.
6. The Directorate of School Education in Jammu and Kashmir has issued stern directives to private schools, warning against unauthorized fee hikes and unfair practices for the upcoming academic session of 2024-25. Schools found guilty of increasing tuition fees without proper permission may face fines of up to Rs 1 lakh, with the possibility of registration cancellation.
7.Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled a formidable lineup of 40 senior leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who will spearhead the party’s campaign efforts.
8. A high-level Security Review Meeting was held under General Officer Commanding (GOC) Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) and was aimed to discuss the prevailing situation in the Chenab region.
9. Inspector General Border Security Force (Kashmir Frontier) Ashok Yadav said that chances of infiltration along the borders increase when snow starts melting especially during important events such as elections. Security forces are on alert and capable enough to foil any infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the region.
10. Following another fatal attack on a minor child in the Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, the Wildlife Department issued shoot-at-sight orders on Friday to eliminate the “man-eater” leopard.
9. The Khansahib area has been gripped with fear and anguish after a series of leopard attacks claimed the lives of two minor girls and left a minor boy injured within 17 days.
10: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, had a detailed review of the development of skilling portal for Skill Development Department (SDD) by Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N)in association with the NIC and IT Department of J&K . Besides Secretary, SDD the meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, IT; Secretary, Planning; DG, Planning; Director, SDD and other concerned officers of the Department.
