Police arrests 3 gamblers in B’la, Stake money seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested three gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards of Takiya Wagoora, a police party headed by incharge Police Post Wagoora under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri raided the specific spot and apprehended three gamblers & recovered stake money of rupees 2490 & playing cards from their possession. Besides, the accused have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Shah S/o Afzal Shah, Yawar Ahmad Shah S/o Mushtaq Ahmad & Riyaz Ahmad Shah S/o Ghulam Rasool, all residents of Takiya Wagoora who were later shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered the cases under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kreeri and also initiated further investigation into the case.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
