Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has seized a consignment of illicit timber from village Vuhlutra Arkhereari in the jurisdiction of Police Station Panzalla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on a specific inputs, a Police party headed by SHO Police Station Panzalla conducted raid at a specific location at village Vuhlutra Arkhereari and during search, illicit timber (66.23 Square feet) were recovered from the said spot, adding therein that the said accused involved in the commission of crime has been identified as Abdul Majeed Najar S/o Fateh Mohammad Najar R/o Volutra Rafiabad and the efforts are on to nab the accused person.
Stating that police has registered a case under FIR No. 06/2024 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Panzalla besides initiating investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to collaborate with law enforcement authorities in battle against crimes.
